Anett-Maud Joppien

Architektin BDA, Dipl.- Ing.M.Arch., University professor

She is the founder of Dietz Joppien Architekten in Frankfurt am Main and Potsdam/Berlin. From 1989 to 2022 she worked with over 50 employees and specialists on national and international projects and realized an award-winning work.

Anett-Maud Joppien studied architecture at the Technical University of Berlin and graduated from the Technical University of Darmstadt. A Fulbright Scholarship took her to the University of Illinois Chicago and University of California, Berkeley (M.Arch degree with honors).

Between 2003-2011, after visiting professorships at the University of Hannover and the Technical University of Darmstadt, she was Professor of Building Construction and Design at the University of Wuppertal. Since 2011, Anett-Maud Joppien has been Professor of Design and Building Technology at the Technical University of Darmstadt. In research and teaching, she is internationally committed to sustainable architecture with built and digital prototypes that have received numerous awards.

She has been an honorary vice president of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB e.V.) since 2013.

Anett-Maud Joppien has been active as a judge and chairwoman in more than 350 national and international architectural competitions and assessment procedures since 1994. As an author and in international lectures and scientific workshops, she is committed to the relevant topics of building culture and sustainability.

She is a member of the Design Council of the City of Karlsruhe and in Rhein-Neckar/Heidelberg of Epple GmbH. Anett-Maud Joppien was chairwoman of the design advisory board of the city of Freiburg and was a member of the design advisory board of the state capital Mainz and the city of Mannheim.

Albert Dietz

Architekt BDA, Dipl.- Ing. M.Arch.

He is the founder of Dietz Joppien Architekten in Frankfurt am Main and Potsdam/Berlin. From 1989 to 2022 he worked on national and international projects with over 50 employees and specialists from 1989-2022 and realized an award-winning work.

He studied architecture at the Technical University of Darmstadt. A Fulbright Scholarship took him to the University of Eugene Oregon, USA (M.Arch degree with honors) He then worked at Zimmer Gunsul Frasca – Portland/Oregon, USA.

He was a visiting professor at the University of Hanover and has been teaching design, construction and sustainable strategies in architecture since 2004, first at the University of Wuppertal and since 2014 at the Technical University of Darmstadt.

Albert Dietz has been active as a judge in numerous architectural competitions and appraisal procedures since 1994. He was honorary chairman of the BDA Frankfurt am Main.

Albert Dietz has extensive experience in all HOAI service phases and special expertise in the development and management of large-scale projects.
